Why standard insulation doesn't work well in metal buildings
Fiberglass batts installed in metal structures lose much of their effectiveness because metal studs and purlins conduct heat aggressively, bypassing the insulation and transferring heat straight through the wall. Batts also have no air sealing properties, trap moisture, and in agricultural environments attract rodents and insects.
Spray foam eliminates these problems because it bonds directly to the metal surface. There's no gap for air to move through, no thermal bridging around the foam, and no soft material for pests to nest in.

Spray foam stops the condensation problem in metal buildings
If you've ever walked into your shop on a cold winter morning and found everything damp, that's condensation: warm humid air inside meeting cold metal. It rusts tools, damages equipment, grows mold, and makes the building miserable. This is especially common in North-Central Texas during spring and fall when inside and outside temperatures swing dramatically.
Closed-cell spray foam applied to the interior side of the metal creates a thermal break. The metal surface stays above the dew point, condensation stops, and the building stays drier year-round. This is one of the most common reasons commercial customers call us. They've dealt with the condensation problem for years before figuring out what causes it.
Insulating a new metal building during construction
If you're building a new shop, barn, or commercial metal building, the right time to plan for spray foam is before the erection crew finishes. We coordinate directly with builders and erectors to schedule the foam application at the right point, typically after the building is erected and enclosed but before interior finishing begins.
